Capturing Your Big Day
and all the magic moments
As a wedding photographer, I aim to be nowhere and everywhere all at once.
Wait, that doesn’t make sense, does it?! Let me explain…
I’ve always thought, if someone’s been told what to do in a photo, you can spot it a mile off. You know what I mean? There’s just something so unnatural about it! For me, the best photos are always a real moment captured; never a moment made.
And that’s where the ‘nowhere’ bit comes in.
Most of the time, I want you to be able to get on and enjoy your day as if I wasn’t even there. And while you’re laughing, drinking, dancing and making memories, I’ll be sneaking about like a friendly little ninja. Looking for the best light, finding all the best angles. And telling the story of your day without forever interrupting it.
Because that’s the whole point of having a wedding photographer in the first place, right? Not so you can spend your day smiling nervously for the camera. But so you can really experience your day. Knowing that when it’s all over, your memories will be safe and waiting for you.
The ‘everywhere’ bit is trickier to explain…
Because it’s only after you get married that you realise just how quickly everything flashes by. How much of your day happens unseen, how many amazing moments you just… miss.
So I won’t be following you around like a lost puppy with a camera! I want to weave my way through your day like sunshine in summer. Making friends with your Nan, being the kids’ favourite grown-up, and basically being everywhere all at once.
I want to capture all those amazing moments you never even knew about. So when you look through your album together- whether it’s for the first time, or the hundredth - you won’t just get told the story as you already know it. You’ll get a hundred moments you never saw, and a whole side of the story you never got to see.
Sounds perfect, we’re in!
Why I LOVE being a wedding photographer
I love that I get to be there for so many incredible moments. Your first look, your first kiss, your first dance; the moments you know are coming, but that’ll sweep you off your feet all-the-same.
And I love the small moments, too. Quick glances, sneaky kisses, knowing smiles. The ones that’ll come out of nowhere and hold your heart forever.
I love that sudden peace we find in escaping the crowds together. How in the midst of all the excitement and attention, you get a chance to let your guards down for a little while. I love capturing those gorgeous photos of the two of you together, all wrapped up in love on your wedding day.
And I love knowing those moments I’ve captured in a second will be valued for generations. Poured over, talked about, cherished. Maybe one day shown to children, even grandchildren. And framed with love in every place you’ll ever call home.
Let’s talk about your couple’s shots…
Hands down, this is my favourite part of the day! And not just because I get a chance to be a bit more artsy and creative with my camera! But because of all the moments you share on your wedding day, when you look back, I know you’ll cherish these the most.
And honestly, it’s no big thing. If you’re looking at me for help, or you seem a bit lost, I’ll suggest a thing or two to help you out (I might even crack some of my not-so-famous jokes!) But it’s basically just a walk and a chat, and a chance for you guys to take a breather away from the crowds. [1]
I want to give you beautiful photos that capture how you are with each other when no one else is around. Whatever your love language might be, however you are with each other at home, that’s what I want to capture. I want to give you photos where you recognise yourselves in every shot; photos that really feel like they’re yours.
And let me tell you…when you’re looking through your wedding album for the first time, if you’re not crying already, these are the ones that’ll tip you over the edge!
